Deputy Sherlock tabled a parliamentary question on the matter to Minister John Gormley who has replied that the establishment and timing of the convening of this group is entirely a matter for the OPW.Minister Gormley also stated that his department had written to the OPW in February with regard to the terms of reference, recommending that a suitable mechanism be put in place for ongoing dialogue with local communities to ensure that the group can take account of their views in arriving at an overall approach.

I intend to keep up the pressure with regard to the proper management of this site which is still a cause of concern locally. I have now written to the OPW seeking confirmation on the progress being made on the establishment of a working group.
