Deputy Sherlock is highlighting the free test on foot of figures released this week showing a backlog at National Car Test Centres across the county.

Citing the NCT customer charter Deputy Sherlock said it states that "the average lead time for an appointment at an individual test centre is less than three weeks with a free test if this is greater than four weeks"

"I am aware of one individual who has been refunded on two occasions after the NCT failed to meet his testing deadline. This is a clause the general public seem not to be aware of and something those working in test centres are perhaps also in the dark about," stated Deputy Sherlock.

"I would urge anyone who has had to wait an unreasonable period of time to have their car tested to either write or email the NCT customer service department and request a refund which is their right," added the Deputy.
