COMMUNITIES ENCOURAGED TO SUPPORT KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOUR WEEKENDCORK East Labour Party TD Seán Sherlock is urging people to support the fifth Know Your Neighbour Weekend which runs from July 24th to 25th The Macra na Feirme initiative is all about encouraging good neighbourliness and stronger communities and a challenge that should be embraced according to Deputy Sherlock. "Irish people are seeing a change in their living circumstances, but it is important that people get to know their neighbours and those in their locality, because in times like these it's good to know those who are close to you, " stated the Labour party TD. "Representing a rural constituency I have experienced first hand the sense of isolation that is out there amongst people from all walks of life. Often times having somebody close by, whom you can visit and talk with, can make a huge difference to somebody. This is particularly important for older members of our society many of whom live alone and have little or no family to call upon them," he stated. Deputy Sherlock said the ‘Know Your Neighbour' weekend presents a great opportunity for people to come together and would therefore encourage people to embrace the challenge. » MINISTER ENCOURAGES JUNIOR CERT STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR STUDIES IN SCIENCE AND HIGHER LEVEL MATHS
